A Mwanza based artiste Paschal Cassian emerged the winner of this year’s Bongo Star Search (BSS) final and took home 25/- million and an album recording deal with Benchmark Productions.
He also became winner of the best composed lyrics that sensitize the risk and spread of the HIV/Aids pandemic and received 1.5/- from Family Health International (FHI).
Kigoma based contestant Peter Msechu who was a accompanied by his MP Zitto Kabwe at the final was the first runner-up and pocketed 5/- million.
Dar es Salaam region representative Kelvin Mbati become the second runner-up to the disappointment of his avid supporters who had turned up in large numbers.
The event took place at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam, during the eve of Mwalimu Nyerere’s Memorial Day.
Jackson George from Tanga and Beatrice William from Mwanza took number four and five positions respectively.
